Go Cycling – this might be sometimes tiring as the most of Kefalonia´s areas are quite hilly. Generally the south part of the island is fairly flat, thus more suitable for cycling (bikes for hire are available also in Agia Efimia).

Visit Monasteries and Churches – with breathtaking views for example from the monastery Kipouria near Lixouri, Grillia and Fanendes next to Sami, or Themata nearby Makriotika. The biggest and most magnificent monastery of Kefalonia Island is "Agios Gerasimos", named after the patron saint of the island. The villages surrounding the monastery cultivate vineyards producing the well-known, delightful Kefalonian wine Robola.

Visit Melissani Lake – the underground lake nearby Sami. A boat trip on its bluish green water is a unique experience. Depending on the time of the day the water colour changes as the sunbeams hit it from different angles.

Visit Drogaratti Cave – nearby Sami. From a natural balcony, which resulted from the collapse of the cave roof, you can survey an area of approx. 100 m² with rare stalactites and stalagmites.

Visit Ithaca – the magnificent neighbour island of Kefalonia. You can either join a daily cruise starting in Agia Efimia or take the ferry from Sami and visit the picturesque island of Ithaca for by your own.

Visit Museums – a good choice for a cloudy and rainy day. There are some interesting museums on the island such as the Archaeological Museum in Argostoli, the Natural History Museum in Davgata or the Nautical Museum in Fiskardo.
